Random Pair Generator
Create random pairs from a list of names for partner work, study buddies, icebreakers or games. If the list has an odd number of names, the extra one is shown separately.
How to use it
Paste one name per line and press Make pairs. Each name appears in exactly one pair, or in the leftover group if the list is odd.
Example
Six names give three pairs. Seven names give three pairs and one leftover name.
Limits and accuracy
Pairs are random and do not account for skills, schedules or friendships. You need at least two names.
Frequently asked questions
What happens with an odd number of names?
The last name is shown as Left over, so nobody is dropped from the list.
Can I pair people who should not work together?
Not automatically. Edit the result by hand after drawing.
