Random Number Generator
Pick a random number between any minimum and maximum. Choose whole numbers or decimals, generate one result or a list, and turn on the unique option when repeats are not allowed.
How to use it
Enter a minimum and a maximum, choose how many results you need, and set decimal places if you want fractions. Turn on the unique option for lists such as raffle numbers or samples where each value should appear once. Press Generate to get a new set, or Copy to take the results with you.
Example
Minimum 1, maximum 49, count 6, unique on gives six different numbers, like a simple lottery-style draw.
Limits and accuracy
Unique results need enough possible values. You cannot pick 20 unique whole numbers from 1 to 10, so the tool explains the problem. The range is limited to about 4.29 billion possible values.
Frequently asked questions
Are the numbers fair?
Yes. The tool uses rejection sampling, which avoids the small bias that simple modulo methods can cause.
Why do I see an error for unique numbers?
If you ask for more unique values than the range contains, no valid answer exists. Widen the range or lower the count.
